I don’t think we’re going to have any more children,” Chapman said. “The experience with Olivia has put us off having any more — especially for my partner. It’s all been a lot to cope with.”
During birth Chapman died for seven minutes on the operating table, leading to a 10-day coma and short-term memory loss. The mother had to be reminded she had ever given birth to her daughter, over and over again.
When the premature child was well enough to go home, a mere eight days later, she stopped breathing and was unresponsive. The traumatic experience caused Chapman to wonder if her daughter would ever survive.
